How AI Code Review Works (Automated Static Analysis Explained). Here's the short version.
When people search for AI code review, they often mean automated analysis that inspects code intelligently and consistently. Here is how that process works in practice with CodeInspector.
Repository intake. CodeInspector accepts a GitHub repository through OAuth connection or a public URL. Temporary files are cleaned up when the scan completes — repositories are not permanently stored after scanning.
Rule evaluation. Static analysis rules examine source files for maintainability and security patterns. Each match becomes a finding with location metadata and a severity level.
Review and reporting. Developers open findings in the Explorer workspace to see code context. This workflow is automated code review: the tool applies analysis; humans decide what to fix and when.
Want to find these issues in your own code? Connect your GitHub repository to CodeInspector. You'll get findings with the file, line, severity, and a recommended fix, plus HTML and PDF reports for your team. Start free at codeinspector.app.
