C# Code Complexity Checker
Free C# code complexity checker with Roslyn McCabe metrics per method and configurable thresholds.
Paste C# source to calculate cyclomatic complexity per method using Roslyn. Adjust the threshold to flag methods that need refactoring.
Snippets are sent to CodeInspector for analysis only for this tool—not stored in your account.
Use cases
- Check whether a hot-path method exceeds your team complexity budget.
- Document complexity before/after refactors in pull requests.
- Train reviewers on McCabe-style metrics with real C# code.
Frequently asked questions
How is cyclomatic complexity calculated?
We use a McCabe-style count: base 1 plus if/loops/catch, conditional ?:, switch cases, and logical &&/|| within each method.
Does this execute my code?
No. Roslyn parses and analyzes syntax only; nothing is compiled to IL or run.
Can I analyze multiple files?
This free tool accepts one snippet. Connect a GitHub repo in CodeInspector for multi-file analysis.
